Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Kundalini Research Institute) with Mahan Priya Kaur (Linda Polter)

 New Kundalini Yoga Series
“Self-Affirmations for the New Year”

January 4 – February 8, 2023
Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:45p
In Studio/Zoom

This series is based upon the book Talk to Yourself Like a Buddhist: Five Mindful Practices to Silence Negative Self-Talk by Cynthia Kane. Have you ever caught yourself saying things like these: I can’t do anything right today. That’s so typical of me to get this wrong. I’m so bad at…..? Have you ever said things to yourself that you would never say to friends?

The same rules when communicating with others may apply when talking to ourselves: Is what I am about to say true? Is it helpful? Is it kind? It is also important to bring another Buddhist tenant to self-talk: compassion. Compassion is a wonderful quality to cultivate within yourself and for yourself.

With this series, participants will experience kriyas and meditations that address positive self-talk. These will examine five practices: listening, exploring, questioning, releasing, and balancing. How we talk to ourselves defines how we view others and the world. Through our words, we have the power to change everything!

New Kundalini Yoga Series
“Infinity and Me”

February 15 – March 22 (5 Sessions; no class March 15)
Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:45p
In Studio/Zoom

Infinity is the concept of something that is unlimited, endless, without boundaries.  Everything finite has an identity, a direction, a location, and a prediction.  As we approach infinity with our awareness, we may depend less on the finite and find ourselves comfortable with the unknown. Being aware of our own infinity may be known as Liberation or Nirvana or Enlightenment.  It is a continuous journey, not a destination or an achievement with an end.

The kriyas and meditations in this series have the ability to introduce us to higher goals, ones filled with impossibilities and miracles, ones that are infinite.
