Using various props to fully support the body, one can relax completely and still experience the benefits of traditional yoga poses. Unlike their traditional counterparts, restorative yoga poses rely on props for proper alignment, rather than muscular effort. With the muscles in a relaxed state, one can hold any given restorative yoga pose for several minutes without strain. Restorative Yoga poses are super relaxing where the “work” of the pose is setting yourself up for maximum comfort and letting go of effort and unnecessary tension.
